Baby Whale – 21 July 2018 Last winter, on a one mild afternoon, Woody and I went out looking for whales. I had picked up a new lens a few days before, (a telephoto Sigma 150 – 600mm) and absolutely hanging to test it out. After spying on a few boats coming back, either to port or heading south towards the shipping lanes, we decided to head north hoping to see something they may have missed. The wind was due to pick up later on, giving us a good push for ride back to port. T

I had checked out the website to get an idea of how close we can park to the wetlands without leaving the safety of the car. I am "Poo Scared of Crocodiles". Especially when there are signs everywhere saying be "Croc Aware".

Thinking back I must have been a teen the last time I had been to Tahlee and the surrounding townships on the northern side of Port Stephens. This time it was with an organised photo group.

Finished an Advanced Photography class at Newcastle Photography Institute, and submitted a portfolio in the following categories: Landscape, Portrait - low-key, Portrait - high-key, Macro, Still Life, Product, Smoke or Water, Architecture, Sport or Action, Candid and two Personal Choice.

Photography is never-ending enlightenment to learn new skills, and these skills can lead you in one direction or you can totally disregard them and go another.

Woody and I headed out for an afternoon on the water to photograph whales, eat cheese and biscuits.
